Company Description

[SIC] is an apparel company that functions like a gallery by promoting the work of talented and dedicated emerging artists. Our artists generate both work of their own, and work that supports and benefits causes or organizations that [SIC] believes in. Our objective is two fold: to provide people with an artistic experience that goes beyond the confines of a physical gallery, AND to use apparel to spread the word about organizations and people that we think deserve recognition. Sustainability starts in our eco-efficient studio, but the sale of our non-profit tees also nurtures sustainable organizations all around the world. We support Water for Chile, a non-profit that has designed a system to rebuild communities by capturing rain in communal facilities, to generate electricity and provide drinking water. One Heart Source, another organization that we support, provides education and health care to fight and prevent AIDS and HIV in Africa. We are not just an apparel company.

BUSINESS STRATEGY

[SIC] selects artists who create products that are published on our ecommerce store. The artists produce a design which they dedicate to a particular cause or organization. Sales generated by that design support it's respective non-profit, which allows that organization to achieve it's goals. The market strategy is to predominantly sell online, which allows us to maintain control of the products and how they are consumed by the market. We plan to wholesale our products selectively in the appropriate venues. This company is easily scaled by creating branches around the US, in which a representative takes the role of selecting talented local craftsmen. This person is responsible for developing relationships with local manufacturers of apparel and material to reduce carbon footprint and directly benefit his/her community. This system further expands accessibility to art in each community, and allows people of that community to support causes of their choice.

Products made at [SIC] support non-profit organizations on a global scale. We hope that our investment in helping those organizations will generate both awareness and funds, which will in turn improve the quality of life for all kinds of people. Our apparel is made in Los Angeles, which promotes and strengthens job opportunities in our local community. Additionally, we make conscious decisions in our studio to use only eco-friendly printing materials, and to prevent toxic or harmful chemicals from becoming waste.
